The Perks of Year-Round Homeschooling

Uncategorized

13 Jun

Does the idea of homeschooling year round overwhelm you?

School’s out for summer…unless you live in the Rinna home. Don’t get me wrong – we’re not plugging away at the table working all day instead of playing outside in the sprinkler. We still soak up all the benefits of summer and we even take a few weeks off.

I debated over this for a while – I mean, who wouldn’t want a three-month vacation? (Especially the teacher!?) But for our family, where structure is king and consistency is its queen, going without our school routine all summer just wasn’t a good option. I wonder if that might be true for some of you, as well.

In this episode you’ll hear:

  • the five reasons we decided to homeschool year round (psst…one of them has to do with education being “a life”)
  • how schooling year round gives us freedom all year long
  • why it’s important to celebrate the end of the year and kick off a new one, even when you go year round
  • what our summer term looks like…a “day in the life,” if you will
